The international benchmark in intellectual property, World Trademark Review (WTR), has recognized the work of top trademark professionals with its special publication The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals, known as WTR 1000. This guide recognizes and values the work of the most outstanding trademark professionals and specialized firms of the year among the 80 main countries where the analysis takes place. This year, the publication has once again chosen our Head of International Relations, Isabel Cortés, along with our Of Counsel, José Carlos Erdozain, and included them in the Spanish ranking. The firm’s team is made up of the most experienced professionals in the field of trademark strategy, trademark protection and lawsuits.
The publication points out the extensive expertise of our lawyer Isabel Cortés, who has been practicing law for more than 20 years and is ‘the spearhead of the firm in the management of intellectual property portfolios worldwide.’ WTR also focuses on José Carlos Erdozain, Of Counsel of PONS IP, and his ‘expertise and reliability’ in the management of legal and contracting issues related to intellectual property rights and his position as an expert in international arbitration.
The aim of the WTR 1000 ranking is to reward the work of private sector trademark lawyers and to recognize the importance of their activity in the development and implementation of strategies against trademark infringements, both in global and local markets. To draft the list, the publication has conducted numerous interviews with IP lawyers from major international firms and their clients over a period of four months.
