PONS IP RECEIVES THREE NEW AWARDS AT THE IBERIAN LAWYER IP&TMT AWARDS 2022

PONS IP, a global consulting firm specializing in Intellectual Property, received three new awards for its work over the past year at the second edition of the Iberian Lawyer IP&TMT Awards Gala, organized by the prestigious magazine Iberian Lawyer and held at the renowned Hotel Wellington in Madrid.

PONS IP has been named for the second consecutive year as the best Firm of the year in the Fashion sector and received for the first time ever the magazine's most important distinction for its commitment to equality with the 'Gender Equality Team of the Year' Award. At the personal level, Violeta Arnaiz, Head of the TMT, Intellectual Property and Software Department, received the Lawyer of the Year Award in the Digital Tech category, acknowledging the relevance of her advisory projects in new technologies and copyright law in the last year for important software companies, among others.

These awards, together with the other four obtained in 2021, consolidate PONS IP's leadership and acknowledge the achievements of its entire legal team regarding the practice of Intellectual Property and New Technologies Law in Spain. The awards ceremony was attended by a large number of representatives from PONS IP such as Carmen González Candela, Head of the Trademarks and the Brand Intelligence Department; Violeta Arnaiz, Head of the TMT, Intellectual Property and Software Department; Ana López de Castro, Marketing People and Culture Director; and Juan Luis Antolín, Director of Communications at PONS IP.

The Iberian Lawyer IP & TMT Awards aim to highlight the excellence of the legal market in the field of intellectual property protection, telecommunications and media. According to the publication, intellectual property, also understood as the result of investments in RDI from institutions and companies, is today a competitive and systemic factor with a strong impact on the growth of a company and the industrial system of which it is part in an increasingly competitive market. The recognition of the work of creating solid trademarks and patents is, therefore, a strategic asset of advanced societies and, as such, should be supported and valued by society as a whole.

This year, Iberian Lawyer was advised by a Jury composed of 12 distinguished professionals in intellectual property and telecommunications law from companies such as Telefónica, Dia Group, Grupo Asisa, Secuoya, Renault Group, Gilead Sciences, HP and Mercedez Benz, among others.
